News: Westbond takeover complete
Carpet tile manufacturer, Westbond, has been sold to Dundee-based Bonar Floors for £10.9 million. Based at the Cortonwood Business Park on the Rotherham/Barnsley border, the firm specialises in working with architects, flooring contractors and clients to create tailor-made flooring. Last year it made profits of £600,000 and had gross assets of £3.8 million. Grant Thorton led the deal with DLA Piper providing legal advice. Richard May of DLA is quoted in The Star as stating that "The deal is yet another sign of how healthy the South Yorkshire market is."
