By

The £3.5m Townscape Heritage Initiative is set to launch next week to help regenerate Rotherham's High Street. The scheme includes grants to property owners for the repair and restoration of some building frontages, including new shop fronts and traditional sash windows. Specific listed buildings such as the former Three Cranes Inn and the derelict George Wright Building wil be among those to benefit from the project. As part of Rotherham Renaissance, £35m of new developments are taking shape in the nearby Westgate area aimed at putting new retail, commercial and residential life into the town centre.
