News: Hargreaves planning significant investment for Maltby pit

By

Hargreaves Services, which bought Maltby Colliery in Rotherham last year, has seen half-year revenues leap 70% to £174.3m. Maltby's revenues of £13.3m in the six months to November 30 were less than expected because of unreliable coalface equipment which had been acquired with the mine but significant investment is planned, and Hargreaves has already extended its life by an extra two years to 2107. In addition, the company have been looking to move their headquarters from County Durham to Yorkshire for some time.
