News: New team ready for business

By

Following on from the BLSY post is the news that Business Link Yorkshire, the new organisation set up to take over the business support role in the region, is ready for business. Chief Executive Helen West said: "The services are ready, key staff are in place and we're keen to start delivering what we promised - simplified access to high quality business support for entrepreneurs and growing companies." Over 300 staff will work with individuals considering starting a business, as well as established businesses, across the region with business advisers covering South Yorkshire based at its Barnsley head office, Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, Doncaster Chamber of Commerce and Creative Sheffield's office in Sheffield city centre. Mobile business advisors and business partnership managers will utilise a network of public access points, established in 100 locations across the region to create a service that, according to Yorkshire Forward’s Simon Hill, "is easy to access and ensures value for money for the businesses it serves and the taxpayer."
