News: Rok pitches in to help Rotherham scout group

By

Rok Rotherham has sent a pack of apprentices to the aid of their local Scout Group after an appeal for help. The 30th Rotherham Scout Group needed help to improve its storage facilities and Rok was approached by the father of a beaver who knew of the business and its community ethos through 2010 Rotherham, with whom it is working on the borough’s Decent Homes programme. Members of Rok’s apprenticeship programme took time out of their schedules to install new storage units for tents and other scouting equipment, supplied by Symphony and purchased with the help of National Lottery funding. Rok’s Andrew Stubbs said: "Rok believes in becoming a part of life in the areas in which it works and activities such as this allow us to work not only in, but with the community, which is a great way of achieving that. “We hope that this work will help to improve the way the equipment is stored and preserved for the Scout Group. It has also been an excellent chance for the apprentices to play their part and gain some experience in a live environment."
