News: The regeneration of the property market in the North

By

The Times provides national coverage for the regeneration of the property market in Rotherham in an article on property winners in the North's "regeneration game." As a former industrial town still with a mountain to climb, the article hears from Bill Addy, a director of the property developer Iliad Group, which is working with Rotherham Borough Council to transform the town centre under the Rotherham Renaissance scheme. Addy tells the paper: "The biggest challenge is getting credibility. "It is convincing people that Rotherham is a place where they can go and live, work and do business. There is the same challenge in a lot of smaller towns." The article discusses the redevelopment of the Imperial Buildings, which once completed in September will provide 19 high-quality apartments, plus space for new shops, cafes and bars on the ground floor.
