News: Rotherham firm plans biggest underwater diving centre in the region

By

The Dinnington & Maltby Guardian report on the plans to transform a disused quarry into the biggest underwater diving centre in the region. Sub Aqua Divers of Wath commissioned Dinnington architects, CS Surveying & Architectural Design to draw up the plans for a proposed diving centre with changing facilities, a viewing platform, equipment and gift shops and a cafe at the UK Coal-owned former Kilnhurst Quarry. Managing director John Cawkwell-Stansfield told the paper: "The design and planning is a great challenge for our practice and our architects and surveyors. "The centre would be a real boost to the area and would bring benefits to local tourism, local and regional businesses and the local economy as a whole, including creating jobs at the centre whilst at the same time making use of a redundant site." The plans are due to be submitted to Rotherham Council soon.
