News: Waverley plans go online

By

The outline planning application for the multi million pound proposals for South Yorkshire's largest ever brownfield development creating a new 4,000 home community across 741 acres at Waverley is now available online on Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council's website. The application proposes the construction of 3,900 houses plus 60,000 sq ft for employment, restaurants, cafes, shops, boulevards, parks, lakes, a sailing club, gym, park & ride, primary school, and a CHP power station. 25% of the houses and flats are proposed to be affordable housing, including a mix of rented and shared-ownership units. The massive application is split into over 50 parts, detailing the masterplan, design and access and transport, and the environmental, drainage and other impacts. Consultation is set to continue and written comments should be received by October 17.
