News: Macalloy shortlisted for Sheffield Business Awards

Macalloy, the world leader in design, manufacture and supply of threaded bar and cable systems, based at Dinnington in Rotherham, have been named as finalists for the 2008 Sheffield Business Awards. Macalloy are shortlisted for The Wake Smith Manufacturing Award and The Halliwells Excellence in International Trade Award. An example of why Macalloy has been shortlisted is the recent success found in the Czech Republic. Tension Systems s.r.o, the exclusive distributor for Macalloy products in the Czech Republic has recently received the national award for the building of the year 2008. The District Archive Brno building was supplied with M10 Macalloy S460 tendons and discs used to support the glass façade. The building was conceived and built, to provide a permanent place for the storage of archival materials documenting the history of Moravia, from the 12th century to the present day. The 2008 Sheffield Business Awards, organised by Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, sponsored by BiG and the Environment Agency, and backed by Star Business Monthly, will be staged at Sheffield International Venues' Ponds Forge International Centre on December 4.
