News: Korean success for Martek

By

A recent trip to Korea has resulted in a number of deals for Rotherham based Martek Marine. Korea is a market where Martek have not traditionally had a great deal of presence with local companies often favoured on the majority of projects – but now that’s all changed. Martek recently won a large contract for 44 MariNOx systems which are to be installed across four major shipyards in the city of Busan. This agreement has catapulted Martek into the Korean market and created a massive interest in the company and their product portfolio. As a result, the Manvers company has made Alex Smith sales manager for Korea. Martek's global presence continues to grow with their sales and senior management team recently attending the SMM exhibition in Hamburg, where the world’s top shipyards and marine equipment suppliers were on show. In addition, Martek’s director of business development, Simon Brown, recently joint chaired a seminar on reducing emissions to air from shipping hosted by Lloyd’s Maritime Academy.
