News: Morphy Richards relocate head office in Rotherham

By

Household domestic appliance giant Morphy Richards has relocated its head office to Manvers in Rotherham. Property consultancy Knight Frank brokered the deal which has seen the famous South Yorkshire brand become the first tenant to occupy office accommodation in Innovate at the new Merchant Workspace at Adwick Park in the Dearne Valley. Rebecca Schofield, associate at Knight Frank in Sheffield, said: "Morphy Richards was looking to upgrade and expand their accommodation and a key driver for the relocation was to stay within close proximity to their historic base in Mexborough so staff could be maintained."Innovate Office appealed as it provided a self contained office building with modern accommodation with good on site parking. The accommodation will also be branded as their head office. Morphy Richards also acquired a workspace unit to the rear of the office unit, which provides a mixture of office and warehouse accommodation and will be used for their design team. Julian Arundel of Orchard House Associates who acted for Morphy Richards said: "The accommodation offered a high quality office building finished to a modern specification which proved attractive as a HQ. It was crucial that Morphy Richards remained in the area for staff and that we had a prestigious building that reflected our status as a famous South Yorkshire company." The company is owned by the Irish Glen Dimplex electronics group and employ around 300 people at their factory in Swinton. The Dearne Valley area is already home to a number of well-known occupiers including Ikea, Royal Mail, Powergen, Next, Garnett Dickinson and Maplin Electronics.
