
The green box group, a fresh initiative designed to support businesses in South Yorkshire cut their CO2 emissions and save money, has launched a new training programme. green box group is a joint venture between Groundwork UK and the three Groundwork Trusts in South Yorkshire; Sheffield, Dearne Valley and Creswell. It works with specialists and industry professionals to develop and deliver environmental training and advice across the sub-region. Feedback from a recent seminar gave a clear message that now is the perfect time for businesses across South Yorkshire to engage more effectively with the sustainability agenda and to make environmental improvements, cost-savings and increase efficiency. The green box offer is now made even more attractive with the recent announcement of 60% funding towards training for businesses in Yorkshire and the Humber. John Hudson, Director of Enterprise & Skills, attended the seminar on behalf of Creative Sheffield. He commented: "Now more than ever, businesses are looking for ways of cutting costs in order to survive. What green box group have done is develop a program of courses that not only promote greener operational procedures but can also deliver real bottom line benefits in terms of increasing efficiency and reducing waste."
