Parkgate Shopping Park in Rotherham has scooped one of the UK's most prestigious Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) awards for the second year running. It topped the communities section of the British Land CSR Awards, for its "Better Parkgate, Better Rotherham" community programme against competition from some of the UK's largest shopping centres and parks. Over the past twelve months Parkgate personnel have worked closely with charity fundraisers to raise thousands of pounds for local charities, including a marathon walk and a sleep-out. The Park helps Safe @ Last, Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, Guide Dogs, Rotherham Hospice and other local charities and community groups to raise money and run events, as well as being a main sponsor of Rotherham United Football Club. Denis Copeland, Manager of Parkgate Shopping said: "I am extremely proud of the whole team for their tireless efforts on behalf of so many good local causes during the course of the past 12 months, and their dedication and good spirit, together with the generosity of so many local people, thoroughly deserves this recognition."
