News: Inditherm's system more than meets expectations

By

Rotherham heating specialist Inditherm has provided a complete system for a major chemical company.

In 2008 Inditherm completed the installation and commissioning of a new process heating system for leading polyurethane systems house Elastogran U.K. Ltd, with a contract value in excess of £100,000.

After running an innovative heating system for the first quarter of 2009, Elastogran have confirmed that the system has more than met their expectations.

Elastogran U.K. Ltd, part of BASF, has invested in the Inditherm system to help overcome the problems associated with heating large process equipment such as pumps, flanges, valves and filter pots.

Elastogran manufactures polyurethane products such as car seats, refrigeration foam, insulation material, office furniture and running tracks.

Integration of the Inditherm low voltage heating system has helped Elastogran with its commitment to lowering environmental emissions and reducing energy costs.

The project included the supply and installation of process heating for a bulk storage vessel and over 250m of process pipework and components used for the storage of chemicals, with full temperature control to an accuracy of better than ±3ÂșC, in a critical application where failure could result in the contents becoming solidified.

Inditherm's carbon polymer heating technology provided a number of benefits including uniform heating, accurate temperature control, simplified maintenance & reduced energy costs, whilst eliminating the high installation, operation, maintenance & disposal costs associated with thermal oil systems.

Inditherm's CEO, Nick Bettles said: "We are delighted to work with a forward-thinking manufacturer like Elastogran, who are committed to excellence. Naturally we are hoping that the operational benefits of the Inditherm system at Elastogran U.K. Ltd will be seen and be of interest to other group companies."
