News: Innovation through a recession
The latest NAMTEC event in Rotherham will focus on innovation through a recession.
Aimed at the advanced engineering and manufacturing sector, the event takes place on Monday June 8 at the Advanced Manufacturing Park Technology Centre in Rotherham. Delegates will be able to get an insight into the regional technologies on offer and how they can benefit their own business.
Lord Digby Jones, ex Trade Minister and CBI Chairman and Tom Riordan, Chief Executive of Yorkshire Forward, will be keynote speakers.
The event will enable industry to commercialise the technologies developed as part of Yorkshire Forward's Capacity Building Programme and will identify the connection between technology demonstration and deployment and empowering industry to exploit the R&D undertaken. Delegates will be able to share regional technology strategies and better understand the business environment.
Presentations will highlight the available technology in design, modelling & simulation, surface engineering, rapid manufacturing/prototyping and innovative metals processing. Business support companies presenting include Business Link, Sheffield First and Yorkshire Bank. IP specialists, Lee & Priestley will also be outlining the area of the commercialisation of Intellectual Property issues.
The National Metals Technology Centre (NAMTEC) was established in Rotherham to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the metals and related engineering industries throughout the UK.
