News: Metalysis raise £5.1m as they near commercialisation
Metalysis, the Cambridge University spinout based in Rotherham has raised £5.1m in venture capital.
Metalysis holds the worldwide exploitation rights to the FCC Cambridge process which sees specialist powder metals created in a simple, cost effective process with significant environmental benefits.
The funding comes from the Environmental Technologies Fund (ETF) and some of its co-investors - 3i, Chord Capital and Cody Gate Ventures.
The Manvers company will use this new round of financing as working capital to support the scale-up of a novel semi-continuous pilot plant. Following key appointments in April, Metalysis expects to begin commercialisation of the process later this year.
The company is also finalising a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Warwick University to develop the FFC Cambridge process for the production of titanium alloy powders.
