News: Kenny appointed vice-chairman of security trade association

Rotherham business woman Julie Kenny CBE DL has been appointed as the new vice-chairman of the British Security Industry Association.

The British Security Industry Association is the trade association for the professional security industry in the UK.

Julie is managing director of Hellaby-based, Pyronix Limited, one of the world's leading providers of quality security equipment.

John Bates, BSIA Chief Executive, comments: "Julie brings to the role within the BSIA a wealth of experience of the private security industry and extensive knowledge of the workings of the Association.

"As a champion of small business in the Yorkshire region, Julie has made a real difference in advising and supporting Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) and I hope that her enthusiasm for this area will bring further benefit for BSIA's membership of which 84% are SMEs."

Speaking on her new appointment, Julie Kenny said: "I am delighted to have been appointed vice-chairman of the BSIA. I have long been a strong supporter of the Association and the work it undertakes raising standards, increasing professionalism and acting as the representative voice of our industry.

"I aim to assist the chairman and chief executive of the Association in furthering the work of the BSIA in all these areas, bringing further success for the BSIA and its members."
