By

Seven representatives from the AESSEAL group of companies visited Buckingham Palace this week after the group was awarded the equivalent of four company knighthoods in this year's Queen's Awards for Enterprise.

Jonathan Wilkinson, AESSEAL plc Chief Operating Officer was accompanied by six colleagues; Jeanne Tilley, Mark Johnson, Gerald Grant, Sharon McDonnell, Ryan Sheals and Robert Agnew. They attended a special evening reception for 2009 Queen's Award winners, hosted by Her Majesty The Queen and other members of the Royal Family.

In April, Rotherham-based AESSEAL plc won two Queen's Awards in the Innovation and Sustainable Development categories whilst AESSEAL MCK Ltd, the group's Belfast-based subsidiary won a further two, one for International Trade and one for Innovation.

The group specialises in the design and manufacture of mechanical seals, bearing protectors and environmental control systems for process equipment, maximising reliability and protecting the environment from leakage.

Since the company's inception in 1979, the business has expanded at a compound rate of more than 20% per annum, with uninterrupted sales and profit growth. This has been achieved through an entrenched ethos of customer service excellence, reliability-focus and by setting leading standards in best practice techniques and performance.

Today, the Company is the world's fourth largest mechanical seal business with a global footprint in 31 countries.

On the group's 11th Queen's Award, Chris Rea, Group Managing Director said: "On behalf of all of my colleagues in the AES Engineering Ltd. Group we feel proud and privileged that our AESSEAL brand continues to be associated with the Queen's Awards for Enterprise."

AESSEAL representatives were joined by Jackie Frost, Enterprise Projects Manager at Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council who was awarded the individual Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion 2009.
