News: Newburgh financial director retires
Andrew Cutts, financial director of Newburgh Engineering in Rotherham, has retired after 31 years with the company.
Andrew, who started his role as chief accountant with the company three decades ago, has spent the last few years working closely with Chris Gibson, who has now taken over his position in the accounts department.
His role at Newburgh Engineering was only his second job, having started his career with Thornton Baker. Andrew worked for the first part of his career under Peter Middleton, the then managing director who has recently retired as chairman.
Vincent Middleton, managing director of Newburgh Engineering, said: "Andrew has been a valued member of the team over the years and will be missed by many staff. We wish him all the best for a long and happy retirement. He has done a great job in preparing Chris as his successor and he will have the company's full support in his new role.
"Our previous accountant who retired in 2007 had 47 years of service, so based on this and Andrew's track record, it looks like Chris will have a long career ahead of him!"
Chris Gibson, who is from Sheffield, has spent the past 20 years as an accountant and joined Newburgh Engineering three years ago.
Newburgh Engineering provides specialist precision engineering services to customers within the oil and gas, petrochemical, aerospace and power generation industries. The company has recently invested in a new production facility that has doubled the size of its manufacturing operations in Rotherham.
