News: AES in the USA

By

An American subsidiary of Rotherham manufacturers, AESSEAL is benefiting from the business decisions made by the company back in the UK.

A feature in the Greater Knoxville Business Journal highlights how the Rotherham company's commitment to research and development and its customer relationships is instrumental to seeing it through the recession and setting it up for the recovery.

The company is the world's fourth largest mechanical seal business with a global footprint in 33 countries and the Tennessee subsidiary was established in 1992 by Tom Grove.

They specialise in the design and manufacture of mechanical seals, bearing protectors and environmental control systems for process equipment, maximising reliability and protecting the environment from leakage.

A dedicated move into finding new opportunities during the recession has resulted in targeting the minerals, mining and energy sectors. The move is working in the U.S. as the company recently received a significant contract from PotashCorp. for its New Brunswick mine in Canada.

Grove told the Journal: "We custom designed products for several major projects in the mining industry. We set up product so these mines will save millions of gallons of water and this will significantly reduce the energy required in their evaporation process."

"For us the recession has been full of opportunities. As a relatively new entrant into the market in the U.S., we are constantly challenging the status quo with prospective customers and trying to overcome their resistance to change."
