Rotherham manufacturers, MGB Plastics Limited has secured a contract to supply 250,000 wheelie bins to the North East.

MGB Plastics will manufacture all of the bins at its facility in Rotherham and will deliver the wheeled bins direct to the households served by South Tyneside Council, Sunderland City Council and Gateshead Council.

Commenting on the successful tender, MGB Plastics General Manager, Conor Sugrue said: "We are delighted to have been successful in winning the tender to supply South Tyneside, Sunderland and Gateshead with 240L wheeled bins. We believe that this contract win further enhances MGB's position as the leading manufacturer of wheeled bins in the UK and is testament to our unique distribution service which allows for the direct delivery of wheeled bins from our factory in Rotherham to the household."

MGB Plastics Limited is the UK's leading manufacturer of wheelie bins with capacity of around 1.25 million wheelie bins per annum.

Operating from a 5,000 sq m modern manufacturing facility on the Barbot Hall Industrial Estate in Rotherham, MGB uses state-of-the-art equipment to ensure that only bins of the highest quality are produced.

Formerly Titan Plastech, One51 plc acquired the wheelie bin business of Titan from Kingspan plc in 2008. The tender in the North East follows similar deals to supply 100,000 wheelie bins to households in Walsall and 200,000 bins to households in Hull.
