News: Rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing event in Rotherham

3T RPD Ltd, a leading provider of laser sintering services throughout the UK and Europe, are hosting a rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing event in Rotherham this month, enabling local companies to learn about their innovative manufacturing techniques.




In conjunction with the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing, the full-day event will explain and demonstrate the applications, opportunities and benefits of using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) and Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) throughout all stages of the product life cycle.

The use of rapid prototyping technologies by engineers, architects and designers is rapidly becoming the norm rather than the exception, revolutionising the speed at which products can be brought to market. And with new opportunities for low volume production, Rapid Manufacturing is becoming a reality for many industry sectors. This seminar will help businesses to make the most of what these technologies have to offer.

The seminar will demonstrate how SLS and DMLS technologies enable the cost-effective, fast and accurate production of durable and complex components, whilst negating the investment in conventional tooling. 3T's technical experts will be available to give advice on specific projects or help with any data issues or questions.

The event takes place at the Rolls-Royce Factory of the Future on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham on Wednesday May 12.
