News: Horbury Group acquires scaffolding specialist as eleventh subsidiary

Rotherham construction specialist, The Horbury Group has acquired Tubular Scaffolding Services Ltd.

The long established scaffolding contracting business based in Ashby-De-La-Zouch in the East Midlands, increases the Horbury Group's diversification across the construction sector by becoming their eleventh subsidiary.

The company, which operates across the Midlands and the North of England, employs more than 40 people and has a turnover exceeding £1.5m.

Trevor Wragg, managing director of the Horbury Group, said: "Having already established ourselves in a number of areas, including joinery, ceilings, dry lining and health and safety training, it is a natural progression to offer scaffolding services to our clients.

"Our continual diversification into new markets means we can reach a broader client base, enabling us to provide a full range of services to the construction industry.

"With Tubular's turnover already hitting the £1.5m mark, the company is a valuable addition to the Horbury Group. We are very much looking forward to working with the existing management team and helping to expand the business both financially and geographically."

The Horbury Group, which formed in Sheffield in 1993 as Horbury Building Systems, has gone from strength-to-strength over recent years, increasing its turnover from £1.4m in its first year to £70m and now employing over 1,000 people nationally.

From their headquarters in the Moorgate area of Rotherham, the other companies that make up the Horbury Group are Horbury Building Systems Ltd, Horbury Estates Ltd, MWS Joinery Ltd, Titan Ceilings Ltd, Environ Safety Management Ltd, Drytech, Millstone Building Ltd, Magna Plant and Tool Hire Ltd, Croft Electrical Engineering Ltd and Elevation Recruitment.
