News: Dormer Tools at MACH 10

By

Dormer Tools has hailed their appearance at MACH 2010 as a huge success.

The engineering giant, based at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham, made contact with hundreds of people, from students to leading engineers, at the recent exhibition which showcases the latest manufacturing technologies.

Dormer's primary focus at MACH was showcasing their tooling capabilities for composite materials, all of which were included in a new Aerospace brochure made available for the first time at the event.

Another MACH first was the sneak preview of Dormer's new product branding – Elect and Spectrum – for the UK market. The branding will make it even easier for customers to identify which tool is best suited for their application.

John O'Donoghue, general manager of Dormer Tools, said: "Our week-long attendance at MACH 2010 was a huge success and a great show of strength by Dormer Tools and the engineering industry as a whole.

"The event was a great opportunity to meet customers and partners, new and old, face-to-face and discuss how we can best work together. In the current economic climate it is vital for the industry to bring together all the high-level expertise that exists across the UK and Europe."

Prince Andrew, Duke of York, officially opened MACH, which attracted thousands of visitors from around the world. Other Rotherham companies attended included Bromley Technologies and The University of Sheffield AMRC with Boeing's Manufacturing Transporter (MANTRA), a specially equipped 14m long lorry designed to give aspiring young engineers a hands on experience with real, leading-edge manufacturing technologies.
