News: Rotherham dress shop expands with help of grant
Popular Rotherham town centre boutique Ks on Wellgate is expanding to a second unit with a new range on Moorgate Street.
This week saw the launch of the second shop, Dressed by Ks, now selling bridal wear to add to their existing range of prom dresses, shoes and accessories.
Mayor of Rotherham, Cllr Rose McNeely, officially opened the new boutique and said: "It's wonderful to see yet another shop open this year and even better that it's an existing Rotherham business expanding to a second unit – proving that trade must be doing well in our town centre."
The second shop has benefited from one of Rotherham Borough Council's Business Vitality Grants which offer eligible new, or expanding, businesses 50% off their first year's rent, 25% off in year two and help towards fit-out costs.
Owner of Dressed by Ks Beccie Tranmer said: "I'm very excited about the new boutique and venturing into new product lines such as the bridal wear. The shop on Wellgate has continued to grow but it's the support from the grants and the council that has encouraged me to take the plunge."
The Business Vitality Grants continue to support new businesses open up in the town centre and announcements of two further businesses due to open will be made shortly.
