News: William Hill takes space in Rotherham town centre

Britain's biggest bookmaker William Hill has taken an empty retail unit in Rotherham town centre.

Local agents, Burgess Commercial, acted on behalf of the landlord in a new letting at 8 Upper Millgate, previously occupied by Jump Estate Agents.

The premises, which extend to approximately 746 sq ft occupies a prime, attractive position within the town centre, within a very successful established parade of retail units between All Saints' Square and Corporation Street.

A spokesperson from The William Hill Organisation said: "We expect to employ six new members of staff which is obviously good news for Rotherham and we are very excited by this latest acquisition."

Tim O'Connell, Business and Retail Investment Manager for Rotherham Investment and Development Office (RiDO), added: "It is good news to see another business is investing in the Rotherham town centre. This latest tenant will join over thirty national chains and independent retailers who have chosen to open in the town centre during 2010."

The letting is the latest by the agents which includes Galliford Try Rail, who are the main contractors for the £7m redevelopment of Rotherham Central railway station, taking 1,146 sq ft at the Bradmarsh Business Park, Templeborough.

Burgess Commercial have also completed two lettings in Doncaster for KAT Motorsport Ltd and The Emporium.

Burgess Commercial is headed by Paul Burgess and Neil Keally who collectively have over 45 years combined experience in commercial property in the Rotherham and South Yorkshire area.
