News: Rudman's European Gold is another medal for Bromley Technologies

By

Shelley Rudman's Gold in the Women's European Championships over the weekend was the 18th World Cup medal for British athletes supported by Rotherham based Bromley Technologies.

Shelley finished first in the race in Winterberg, Germany, the sixth round of this year's FIBT Skeleton Bobsleigh World Cup that also doubled as the European Championships.

In an excellent season Rudman has picked up four Slivers and one Gold out of six races and remains second in the overall standings.

After the race Shelley said: "It's great to have won the European Championships again, and to have secured a World Cup Gold, after four consecutive Silvers in the last races. Just want to thank Team Bromley for providing a superb sled, and a special thank you to Richard Bromley who sacrifices a lot to be out here at the races with Kristan and I."

Bromley Technologies supply Shelley's partner Kristan Bromley and 14 nations from their base at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham.

Mike Maddock, Bromley's chief operating officer, said: "This is a great result for Shelley and really confirms her as the sport's most consistent female athlete of the past three seasons, securing 12 World Cup medals. It's also good to see the Bromley skeleton programme pick up another major Championship title. Over the last three years our Team GB skeleton athletes have secured 18 World cup medals.

"To maintain this level of peak performance over 11 years, is testament to our expertise and continual research and development activities, which explains why 14 nations use Bromley Technologies equipment and make the programme the World's most successful commercial skeleton bobsleigh supplier. And as we also develop and design equipment in the F1 and Moto2 environments we can utilise the skills learnt from many areas of performance.

"The Bromley Technologies team are over the moon how our athletes have dominated this season and wish them well in the last few races. Kristan was having an amazing season, standing 2nd overall in the world ranking, unfortunately due to an injury he has had to miss the last 2 races however we hope he will be back competing in St Moritz this week where he won Silver last year."
