News: Leading manufacturers at Rotherham Means Business
Rotherham Means Business has announced their full and exciting speaker programme that includes two Rotherham-based manufacturers who will be sharing the secrets of their success.
Gordon Bridge, director of leading Rotherham manufacturer, AESSEAL, will be leading a seminar on innovation and discuss the development of the Templeborough firm from its origins in 1981 with five people to 1,300 people in 2011. The world's fourth largest mechanical seal business has had 30 years of uninterrupted sales growth and last year smashed the £100m mark for sales.
Peter Hoy, managing director of Dinnington-based Macalloy, will be speaking on "Igniting your business through exporting." Macalloy are world leaders in design, manufacture and supply of threaded bar and cable systems and won the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2010 for International Trade. Over six years, the company's export earnings increased by 124% from its markets in 58 countries worldwide. Macalloy systems support impressive projects including Johannesburg's Soccer City Stadium, the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai and close to home, Clifton Park in Rotherham.
Hundreds of delegates from across the region have already booked on to attend the event which is sure to set the scene for Sheffield's Global Manufacturing Festival, where throughout March the festival will reaffirm the UK and Sheffields position as a global leader in advanced engineering and manufacturing innovation.
John Wainwright, Chair of Rotherham's Enterprise Board, said: "We are thrilled to have secured two of Rotherham's leading manufacturers to speak at the event who hopefully inspire delegates to consider doing business in the manufacturing sector. Without doubt the event will lead the way for Sheffield’s Global Manufacturing Festival."
