News: Dormer invest in Rotherham facility

The FT 4000 is one of the most powerful machines of its type and will ensure Dormer has the leading technology to offer first-class demonstrations for a wide range of engineering and manufacturing sectors.
This not only provides Dormer with the opportunity to demonstrate their significant product development but also allows Heller to showcase the power and flexibility of the machine.
Heller's impressive five-axis high-torque machining technology is already being used at Dormer by international organisations such as Bosch and Goodrich, where a number of projects are being undertaken and Heller continue to field a number of enquiries following a very successful Farnborough Airshow.
John O'Donoghue, general manager at Dormer Tools, said: "This is a considerable development for Dormer as it will further enhance our reputation of providing innovative solutions in milling, threading and drilling applications. It allows us to provide expert consultancy and the ability to validate cost savings and process efficiency in a state-of-the-art facility using Heller's excellent five-axis machining technology.
"Bringing a world-leader such as Heller on board will provide Dormer with the machining capabilities to demonstrate how successful our cuttings tools can be. The F Series' qualities render it ideal for use across a wide spectrum of industries, including automotive and aerospace.
"It is a perfect partnership at the perfect time, allowing us to penetrate the market with our latest milling technology by performing product demonstrations on one of the most powerful machines of its type."
Geoff Lloyd, managing director of Heller, added: "We have a number of demonstration machines across Europe, but we have chosen the Dormer facility at the Advanced Manufacturing Park as the key location to house our UK machine."
