News: Solaglas open new Rotherham HQ
Specialist glazing installation and maintenance company, Solaglas has officially opened their major new headquarters in Rotherham.
The company completed their relocation across the borough, from Hellaby to Brookfields Park in the Dearne Valley, in January and the 60,000 sq m "Waterlands" site was opened by the Mayor of Rotherham, Councillor Rose McNeely last week.
Solaglas Installation specialises in the installation and maintenance of all glass products and emergency glazing for the construction, property maintenance and insurance markets.
The French-owned company recently brought together three separate operating divisions to form SolagIas Installation. The new company will provide an end-to-end service for individual projects and major contracts ranging from £50 to £10m. The opening of the centre represents a major investment as the company targets growth and expansion over the coming years.
Joining the Mayor for the official opening was Peter Hindle, MBE, Saint-Gobain General Delegate, Solaglas Director of Installation, Ian Davy and over 100 customers, suppliers and special guests.
After the official opening, guests were presented with information on the company's three divisions; Insurance Services, Commercial Glazing and Contracting and then taken on guided tours of the factory.
Peter Hindle, MBE, Saint-Gobain General Delegate said: "Saint-Gobain is a world leader in design, production and distribution of construction materials. I feel strongly that Solaglas Installation is in a unique position to sustain growth through its technical expertise, innovation and service ethos.
Ian Davy, director of Solaglas Installation, said: "The opening of "Waterlands" is key to the growth of Solaglas Installation and part of our journey to become the "clear market leader" within the UK glass business.
"Our new base in South Yorkshire means that we are ideally positioned close to major transport networks which will enable us to deliver high-quality manufacturing and excellent customer service to our clients."
Solaglas is a £120m turnover business with 1200 employees based across 22 separate locations covering the whole of the UK and Northern Ireland.
