News: The Source Skills Academy Rotherham

The Source, a Centre of Excellence for training and skills in the retail and service sector, are preparing a new initiative designed to support local businesses and help expand Rotherham town centre.

Based at Meadowhall, The Source Skills Academy is a flagship centre providing state of the art training, development and conferencing facilities for all sectors of the local community and local businesses.


The Source Skills Academy Rotherham will be a new venture designed to offer advice, guidance and training services to Rotherham organisations. The service also links in with other Rotherham based support networks and advisors to offer a full wealth of guidance for all aspects of their business.

Premises are being prepared in a prominent location on the High Street in Rotherham town centre.

Ann Cadman, Managing Director at The Source Skills Academy, said: "The Source was established in 2003 to support businesses across South Yorkshire with training and recruitment guidance and we have come a long way since our initial launch.

"We are now opening a brand new site on the High Street that will offer dedicated support to Rotherham businesses. This is a very exciting development for The Source Skills Academy and we are keen to work in partnership with Rotherham organisations with the goal of improving business performance and maximising opportunities in this very difficult climate."

The Source has previously supported Rotherham businesses to revitalise their window displays and assess how they could add further artistic flair to increase sales by holding free visual merchandising workshops. The Source has since supported tens of Rotherham businesses with advice and guidance, even winning Business of the Year at the Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards in October 2010.

The Source Skills Academy Rotherham is fronted by George Elliott who, with over 30 years experience in retail and business, brings a wealth of knowledge and new ideas to support Rotherham organisations.

George said: "The Source Skills Academy Rotherham is an exciting new venture designed to encourage staff training and development and connecting the dots between support networks across the region. We offer complementary help and guidance for Rotherham businesses, pointing them in the right direction to help grow their organisation and up-skill their workforce."
