News: Tigra Fishing Tackle goes under

By

The entire stock of Tigra Fishing Tackle in Rotherham is to go under the auctioneer's hammer tomorrow after being seized by bailiffs.

Tigra Fishing Tackle was based in the Rawmarsh Shopping Centre, where it had a 3,000 sq ft showroom since 2000. The business also had an extensive Internet sales operation.

The bailiffs seized the stock in lieu of unpaid rent on the firm's Rawmarsh premises. It has now been moved to industrial auctioneers CJM Asset Management at Scunthorpe where it is to be sold in a public auction.

Paul Cooper, director at CJM, said: "Tigra were significant players in their field, supplying a huge range of fishing related products, including tackle by all the major manufacturers such as Carp, Nash, Shimano, Gardner and Pike.

"In total we reckon that the retail value of the stock is probably over £150,000. It accounts for the first 625 lots in Tuesday's auction."
