News: New Rotherham premises for ABS will provide solid foundation for growth
The international specialist in sourcing, processing and supply of primary and secondary alloys and metals, has secured the 83,712 sq ft high-specification industrial unit from Matrix.
ABS group, which was founded in 1988 and has successfully grown into market leading business operating from six locations in four continents, is creating a state-of-the-art global headquarters at Adwick Park. The move is part of an expansion program that would see 40 people employed in Manvers and see the retention of their Kilnhurst facility.
Andy Jones, operations director at ABS Industrial Resources, said: "We use the very latest technologies to effectively analyse and process materials containing metals such as cobalt, nickel, molybdenum, titanium, niobium, tantalum, and chromium.
"We provide significant benefit to our global client base through our industry leading sourcing and supply-chain, and with our unique expertise at processing metals.
"We have been looking for about four years for suitable premises that meet out exact needs, allowing us to focus even closer on servicing our customers and suppliers.
"Adwick Park is an excellent facility that will form a solid foundation for the business’s continued growth, along with the additional capacity and its close proximity to our Kilnhurst sites."
DTZ's industrial team in Leeds concluded the deal and ABS was represented by the Sheffield office of Knight Frank.
Mike Baugh of DTZ, said: "Our work has covered the full remit of property acquisition from highlighting the unit to ABS Industrial Resources, to advice and negotiation in respect of the sale price and the acquisition survey.
"We are now helping ABS with the fit out as they look to extend the office content and relocate their head office functions to Adwick Park."
