News: International business events in Rotherham
Rotherham is hosting two free events to support local companies in developing their international business and boost exports.
Rotherham Investment and Development Office (RIDO), the regeneration arm of Rotherham Council is joining up with experts from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) as part of the "Soft Landings Zone" (SLZ) project.
The project supports Rotherham companies looking to export and is managed by RiDO and funded from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
In addition to helping overseas companies that are looking to establish operations in the UK, the SLZ project works with local companies through accelerated support programmes to develop ideas that have true potential to create export focused businesses.
On June 26, businesses can access free expert advice on accessing overseas markets. Simon Bedford, international development specialist at UKTI will be delivering a presentation on the various routes to market available for products or services, with advice on developing strategies to take advantage of them. Delegates will gain an insight into all aspects of international business and the first steps towards entering a new market.
On July 4, businesses can learn how to communicate effectively with potential foreign customers by adapting marketing material from expert speaker Mary Cousins, director at Lloyd International Communications and export and communications consultant for UKTI. Mary Cousins is a communications specialist on international sales and marketing, foreign languages and intercultural communications.
It will look at how to develop marketing and websites to make them accessible in foreign languages and to different cultures.
Both morning events will take place at RiDO's Fusion @ Magna business centre at Templeborough.
