News: Connect Yorkshire helping firms get Fit for Funding

By

Connect Yorkshire is working with some of the region's leading experts and entrepreneurs on a series of workshops to help local firms get Fit for Funding.

Connect Yorkshire, a not-for-profit company, helps growth businesses in Yorkshire and the Humber get the debt/equity funding and expertise they need.

Starting on October 2, the workshops focus on the key areas for expansion including looking at methods of funding with experts speaking from a bank, a venture capitalist, a business angel and a grant finder.

Subsequent workshops cover business planning, management accounts, how to fully exploit the opportunities that social media offers, effective negotiation skills, tips for developing effective commercial relationships and a guide to intellectual property rights.

Nick Butler, chief executive at Connect Yorkshire, said: "Yorkshire boasts many superb companies but whilst they may be specialist at what they do, often need help to ensure they are best positioned to jump to the next level.

"We have pulled together some of the brightest and most expert professionals to address the most important elements of obtaining the funding they need for successful growth and expansion.

"We believe it's a unique opportunity for companies and provides an invaluable and highly cost effective way for businesses to learn and access relevant and important knowledge, information and contacts."
