News: Flex Accounting named Bookkeeping Practice of the Year
Flex Accounting Services Ltd in Rotherham has been named as the Bookkeeping Practice of the Year by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.
The prestigious awards were announced at the recent Bookkeepers Summit in London where Beverley Flanagan, director of Flex Accounting Services, was presented with the award by HRH Prince Michael of Kent.
Beverley was working as a Financial Controller for the Daily Mail Group when she was made redundant. She then set about starting her own bookkeeping business with £1000 of her own money and, now three years later, Beverley employs three members of staff to assist her in the business which continues to grow year on year.
Flex Accounting's client base has grown by 40% over the last year mainly through referrals from existing clients. The firm has expanded to larger premises at Templeborough and taken on a virtual London office to cope with rising demand further south.
Beverley Flanagan, managing director of Flex Accounting Services, said: "Whilst at the awards ceremony at the Savoy in London, we were so happy to even be one of the five finalists for bookkeeping practice of the year, never mind when they announced "and the winner is Flex Accounting Services Ltd!"
"That moment collecting our award from HRH Prince Michael of Kent was quite surreal. To find out that we had won this award from nearly 4,000 ICB practices across the country makes us feel very proud and gives us the recognition and appreciation of all the hard work that we do.
"Winning this award has already gained us new clients and hopefully many more to come. It also shows to our current and prospective clients that even a little old bookkeeping and payroll practice in South Yorkshire can stand out from the crowd!"
