News: Yorkshire Crisps launch newest flavour
The Rotherham-based Yorkshire Crisp Company has added its new Sweet Cured Ham & Pickle flavour as a guest flavour to its range of gourmet crisps that are exported around the world.
The Waleswood company produces hand-made crisps made from local vegetables and totally natural flavours. It now has 12 flavours including the award-winning Roast Lamb & Mint flavour that launched in 2011.
The launch of the Sweet Cured Ham & Pickle crisps took place recently at Fodder, the award-winning farm shop and café at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate.
Tim Wheatley, sales director at Yorkshire Crisps, said: "We are looking forward to introducing the new flavour to both new and established customers.
"All our bags and drums feature Yorkshire heritage images and the image chosen for the new flavour was taken at the Great Yorkshire Show as there's "nowt" more Yorkshire than that! It's a perfect complement to our brand and packaging. That's also the reason we chose Fodder as the venue for the launch as it is situated on the Great Yorkshire Showground."
The business, which was initially a regional operation, has expanded and their gourmet crisps are now exported to over 14 countries around the globe, including the Far East.
Closer to home, their products can be found in regional supermarkets and flavours of the crisps including Lightly Sea Salted, Henderson's Yorkshire Sauce and Nowt On are already being sold in John Lewis Food Halls, Fortnum & Mason, Harvey Nichols and Selfridges.
