News: Domino's planning to deliver more jobs in Rotherham

By

Domino's, the local pizza delivery expert, is planning to open a new outlet on the edge of Rotherham town centre.

Set to take space in a former furniture showroom at Greasbrough Street and Thames Street, new outlets typically create around 25-30 full and part-time jobs, with Domino's recruiting within the community for pizza makers, customer service representatives and delivery experts.

Peter & Paul Eyre secured planning permission earlier this year to subdivide the building and create a hot-food takeaway in part of the vacant furniture showroom. It has permission to open until 4am and has four parking spaces.

Now a planning application has been submitted by Domino's franchisee Eddie El-Lamaa for new signage. Mr El-Lamaa already operates the Domino's at the Onyx Retail Park in Manvers that opened in 2011. The first Rotherham outlet can be found on Bawtry Road at Bramley.
Founded in 1960, Domino's is one of the world's leading pizza delivery brands. Through its primarily franchised system, Domino's operates a global network of more than 10,000 stores in 75 international markets. The focus is on the home delivery of pizza, freshly made to order with high quality ingredients.

Domino's Pizza Group plc holds the exclusive master franchise to own, operate and franchise Domino's Pizza stores in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg. The first UK store opened in Luton in 1985.

In 2013 there were 825 stores in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Germany and Switzerland. Of these, 634 stores are in England. The group has opened a total of 21 stores this year and are on target to open 40-50 by the end of 2014.

The company reported a 1.9 percent rise in pre-tax profit for 2013 to £47.6m. UK performance is strong with Q3 of 2014 being the fourth successive quarter of double-digit like-for-like sales growth.

David Wild, chief executive officer at Domino's Pizza Group plc, said: "We are delighted with the like-for-like performance in our core UK business and remain on track for our targeted new store opening programme. We are building on our success on-line with the roll-out of our new website and a series of enhancements to continue to make it easy for our customers to order Domino's."
