News: Rotherham-based firm leading the "weigh" since 1926
Rotherham-based medical device market leader, Marsden Group, is celebrating its centenary year and is continuing to push new industry boundaries.
With its headquarters at Templeborough, Marsden Group already offers a range of proven medical devices to help healthcare professionals deliver high quality assessment in hospitals, care homes and community settings. The company is perhaps best known for its pioneering work within weighing devices, used as an essential monitoring and diagnostic tool.
The company was established in Sheffield and opened the doors to its very first shop on the Harrow Road in London in 1926. It has grown to become the UK’s leading manufacturer of medical weighing devices and has been responsible for delivering services to the NHS for more than 50 years. In 2001 the company opened a dedicated manufacturing facility in Rotherham.
Along with 200+ contracts with NHS Trusts, Marsden now supports customers across more than 50 countries and in the widest range of sectors, including medical, industrial and commercial, veterinary and gym and health.

Innovation has been a strong suit for Marsden with the Patient Transfer Scale instrumental in a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation in 2021 and new products such as the body composition scales - a weighing scale that provides a calculation of body health based on a number of metrics. The scale will provide a weight reading and usually a BMI measure.
