News: Gala Tent's sporting success

By

Rotherham-based Gala Tent, one the UK's largest importer and exporter of tents, marquees and pop up awnings, is enjoying success with its innovative Star Shade product, which is being used by a growing number of sports teams around the country.

The distinctively shaped tent makes it ideal for promotional events, and custom printing makes it stand out in the crowd.

Jason Mace, managing director of Gala Tent in Manvers, explains: "At busy outdoor sport events, it's important to have a central hub where teams can gather upon arrival, as well as socialise throughout the day. The Star Shade is proving popular with sports enthusiasts as its unique design helps it to stand out, making it easier for participants to find their team's base. Many event organisers and team managers are also recognising the benefits of having a branded Star Shade which helps them to attract new members by creating a professional and memorable image."

One example is Lincsquad, a Triathlon and Quadrathlon club in North Lincolnshire, who purchased a Star Shade from Gala Tent two years ago and since then the club has gone from strength to strength.
Phil Binch, chairman of Lincsquad, said: "We bought the Star Shade for the Ripon Triathlon and since then we've used it for our own races, including Brigg Sprint Triathlon, Brigg Bomber Quadrathlon & North Lincolnshire Cyclo Sportive as a focal point and to conduct the awards ceremony.  However, it really comes into its own at race weekends where we have a number of club members competing and camping over for the weekend.  The Star Shade is quite often the first thing to be erected and once in pride of place in the centre of our camping area, club members tents are erected around it, giving us a central place for getting together, barbequing and general pre and post race banter.

"At every event we go to we always have someone coming up to us and saying good things about the Star Shade. It stands out a lot more than gazebo type club tents and it also helps guide late arriving club members to the Lincsquad camping area on busy race camp sites."
