School children from the Thrybergh area of Rotherham visited the House of Commons this week to represent their Education Action Zone (EAZ) and celebrate it being the first in Britain to achieve an Excellence in Enterprise Education award. With the enterprise education programme, Rotherham Ready, the cluster of schools have been working together to put enterprise at the centre of their learning to raise pupils’ aspirations and provide real links between school and the world of work. The awards were designed by Warwick Centre of Education and Industry for individual schools but the work of schools in Thrybergh mean they become the EAZ to be recognised.
