News: Rotherham United need investment

By

Rotherham United Football Club today revealed administration would be "the only option" unless new investors were found urgently. A life-saving deal fell through in London last week and the club have filed a 'notice of intention to appoint an administrator'. Investment is needed quickly to avoid administration and a possible points deduction. A spokesperson told The Star "The club retains hope that there is a consortium or forum of investors or fans with the capability and necessary financial clout to enable the club to go forward." The club were saved in an 11th hour takeover two years ago by local businessmen and have recently been investigating relocating to a new community stadium.
