News: Rotherham firm shortlisted for national award

By

Rotherham-based Solaglas Windowcare is a finalist in the British Insurance Awards for its innovative use of mobile technology by its engineers when carrying out surveys. Solaglas Windowcare, which employs some 400 people, developed a mobile system for its 140 engineers that uses personal hand-held computers to digitally record the extent of repair required for households and relay the information digitally. The new system speeds up the entire repair and replacement process and reduces the chance of errors. Ian Davy, managing director said: “The British Insurance Awards highlights the best of the industry and have increasingly come to represent the gold standard for service and quality excellence. “We are delighted that the judges have recognised that we have a passion for finding new ways to meet and exceed the needs of our insurance clients and their customers. If this means investing in the latest technologies, or adapting existing systems to meet our specific needs, then we are committed to this route.”
