News: Rotherham firms to access a world of export opportunity

By

A South Yorkshire International Trade Centre (SYITC) with a new look and new services has re-opened its doors to the region’s exporters. The new SYITC will be part of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and a joint initiative of Sheffield Chamber working with Barnsley & Rotherham and Doncaster Chambers and will be managed by Sheffield Chamber's international trade manager Renate Halton. The SYITC will host international events, promotional seminars and networking opportunities as well as offer services including languages, HMRC briefings, patent workshops, EU legislation advice and updates, inward and outward trade missions, market information and research and an enhanced portfolio of training courses. Sheffield Chamber chief executive Nigel Tomlinson said: "The SYITC will be all about working in partnership - with Sheffield and the other South Yorkshire Chambers, as well as its sponsors and supporters. "The region has been missing a strong voice for its exporters but a re-launched SYITC will help put international competitiveness back on the map for South Yorkshire."
