The vice-chairman of the Town Team behind Rotherham Renaissance, Mike Smith, is urging residents to get behind the massive redevelopment of the town centre. “There are plenty of developments already under way but we still need to keep focused on what Rotherham already has going for it and what it’s set to achieve in the very near future. “To attract investment and more people to live, work and shop in the town, residents and workers need to act as the town’s champions, spreading the word that Rotherham has a lot going for it, and will soon be able to offer even more.” On June 12, a Town Team meeting will hear a short update on all Renaissance projects, and from a guest speaker from the north-east town of Gateshead on how people there changed the perception of their town. The meeting will be held at the Town Hall, at The Crofts at 5pm.
