News: Rotherham helps create the Enterprise Triangle

By

Rotherham, Hull and Wakefield have joined forces to establish the "Enterprise Triangle" with the support of the Young People's Enterprise Forum. Within the three areas Enterprise Education is very much seen as the driver and influencer of developing an enterprising culture which will in turn encourage entrepreneurship. The partnership will see Rotherham's award winning highly successful Rotherham Ready programme extend into primary schools in Hull through the "Make £5 Blossom" project which has been successfully connecting local businesses to local primary schools in Rotherham for over a year. Further developments include involvement in the creation of a European Youth Enterprise Network with colleagues in Belgium, Netherlands, Poland and Italy, and for young people from each of the areas to develop local supply chains and to co-operate with each other in the world of business. Also during November each year the enterprising young people from the three areas will be invited to join in with respective enterprise activities during National Enterprise Week. Jackie Frost, Rotherham Ready Project Manager said "We are really looking forward to working with the Hull Primary Schools and Hull Youth Enterprise Partnership as part of the Enterprise Triangle. "Enterprise affects the ethos and environment of school and can bring about a cultural shift among both staff and pupils. Hull has a really positive attitude towards supporting young people through the delivery of enterprise and by working together we are giving young people some purpose and ambition and the opportunity to develop the skills they will need to succeed."
