News: Sheffield city region to celebrate business

By

Rotherham firms are encouraged to put themselves forward for the 2008 Sheffield Business Awards. The city region's outstanding businesses will be recognised at the high profile awards, which attracted an audience of over 1,000 in 2007, drawn from all sectors of the Sheffield business community. Organised by the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by BiG and the Environment Agency, catergories include The Wake Smith Manufacturing Award, The Business Link Enterprise Award and The Sheffield Hallam University Young Business Person of the Year Award. Sheffield Chamber of Commerce chief executive Nigel Tomlinson said: "The awards recognise and reward Sheffield city region business success – where there are ever more examples contributing to Sheffield being a leading, creative force for business. "The event is well and truly established as a showcase of all that is best in enterprise. The awards are part of the Chamber's ongoing commitment to supporting businesses, whatever their size." The awards are open to all businesses with a Sheffield postcode and full details can be found on the awards website. The Awards event will be held at the Ponds Forge International Centre on December 4.
