News: Rotherham entrepreneur in the driving seat

By

The man behind Rotherham enterprise, Platinum 6, has been awarded a runner up prize at the Rotherham Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2008. Former police officer Tom Jackson set up his luxurious, secure chauffeuring business Platinum 6 in March 2007 and since then has seen his exclusive empire grow from his home-office. The 25-year-old former St Bernards RC School pupil said: "This award has been a massive confidence boost for me. It’s great that other people share my enthusiasm for my business. It’s very exciting." Tom’s main vehicle is a Mercedes Benz VR - an exclusive people carrier with a refreshments cabinet, flip-down plasma TV screen and five captain seats facing forwards or backwards. He can also make arrangements to use an Aston Martin DB9 - and even a helicopter transfer or private jet. "It’s a secure service and it’s my passion. I’ve built my business on my reputation for being honest and reliable - what more could a customer want. I’m also qualified in advanced driving - my father is a driving instructor so I’ve got high standards."
