News: Rotherham businesswoman reappointed to board of Yorkshire Forward

Julie Kenny CBE, the founder and Managing Director of award winning Rotherham company Pyronix Ltd has been reappointed to the board of Regional Development Agency, Yorkshire Forward. Julie Kenny, Ajaz Ahmed, John Vincent and Bill Adams were newly appointed by Pat McFadden, Minister of State for Employment Relations and Postal Affairs. Terry Hodgkinson, Chairman of Yorkshire Forward said: "I am pleased to welcome our newly appointed board members to Yorkshire Forward and look forward to working alongside them over the coming years. "It is great to see such high calibre individuals joining the team and their experience will be invaluable to the work we are currently undertaking and in shaping the agenda of our work going forward." The newly appointed members will all take up their three-year appointments on 14 December 2008 until 13 December 2011 and will join the Board in focusing their efforts towards the economic challenges continuing in the region and beyond. Julie was the first woman president of Rotherham Chamber of Commerce and has held a string of prestigious roles including director of the British Security Industry Association and Deputy Lieutenant of South Yorkshire. In 2006 she was appointed chair of the Small Business Council and was awarded a CBE for services to industry in Yorkshire and Humberside in 2002. Earlier this year the management team of Pyronix gained total ownership of their company via the buy- out of a 36% stake, held by investment company 3i.
