News: Print firm's investment in Rotherham is UK first
Rotherham print specialist, Hine Labels has boosted its digital print setup by investing in the UK's first Xeikon 3000 label press. The firm moved into digital print in 2007 when they installed a Xeikon 330 allowing them to work through the whole of the digital production cycle, something quite different to their traditional flexographic business. The move has allowed Hine to offer greater flexibility and shorter runs for their trade customers. Bill Hine, managing director of Hine Labels, said: "It has certainly enabled us to open new doors with existing customers. The ability to economically produce shorter runs has a strong appeal in many market sectors, and we have also become involved in a number of test marketing programs – an ideal task for digital production, as we can create any number of label variants within a short space of time." From their purpose-built factory at Masbrough, Hine are big enough to produce label runs in the millions and small enough to be able to deal with every order from start to finish.
